Mirijana Vasovic came in and she was fantastic! She taught us bold lips and dimensional smokey eyes. She taught us lots of techniques, and was really helpful in helping us to calm down and not panic when doing something as big as a bold lip. For example, if we did the lip and and it was a bit off on one side shed say don't worry, you're learning, its got good colour coverage and a good line and you just need to even it up on one side.
She told us how important it was to make contacts and showed us what it was really like working in industry.
She took us through her kit and showed us some new brands and told us how important brushes are as tools. Instead of using a regular lip brush she told us to try a large stiff oval brush and it completely transformed the way out lips came out. The demo she did is below:
She created dimensional eyes using metallic in the centre, rather than the corner which is a technique I really liked. Her bold lips were done using lipmix.
When I got home I had a second try at the what we'd done in class because I really liked it and wanted to really nail it. I ha already tried it in class but I thought if i kept practicing it I could experiment more and make it my own.
I think Mirijana's advise has really helped my lip shapes and has shown me a whole different way of creating smokey eyes, and that REALLY helps for this projct. This is something that I am going to consider for the smokey image of my Urban Decay work, because they work a lot with smokey and metallic and I'm interested in seeing if I can adapt this to the brand.
