Cher from MAC came in to do a demo and talk about MAC as a brand. The demo was beautiful and I learnt how important it is to prep the skin before you put anything on it - MAC bases are always flawless.
Cher told us some bits about MAC as a brand that I didn't know before - they hire from within so there are loads of opportunities if you work for them. They do A LOT of shows at the fashion weeks, and will have to meet with designers prior to get on the same wavelength for the design. They travel all across the world.
As far as the brand and how they promote themselves is concerned, I didn't learn as much as I did with Illamasqua but I guess that that's because they're a huge, already well established brand.
However I did learn that they have lots of campaigns for good causes like Viva Glam, which has been headed by celebrities like RuPaul and Rhianna and raises money for AIDS.

The final look was an exaggerated winged liner, flawless base and pink gradient glitter lip. The look is perfect for runway where the lights can hit the glitter, which got me thinking about the different types of makeup and how things can be adapted for shoots, TV and catwalks. MAC do a lot of catwalks so this look is fab, and I will have to think about this when designing for Urban Decay...are they mainly doing catwalks, or photo shoots and how can I adapt the makeup for this?
