A brands website is a really good way to see what they're about at a glance so I thought I would first compare both of the brand's websites.
At face value:
Both websites are set out quite similarly - They both have their logo at the top and the surrounding area is typical to the brand. They both have log in and search options and both have a revolving advert on their front page advertising the latest products.
Illamasqua usually has a bit of a darker image but because we are approaching easter they have opted for a pink, spring front page. Adapting their brand to upcoming holidays and events (while keeping their image) is something that Illamasqua does REALLY well to promote themselves (see Valentines and Christmas images below) and so I must make sure that my Illamasqua image is true to the brand.

This is not something that Urban Decay do so much, the only holiday adaption of their makeup that I have been able to find is the one below, celebrating New Years on their Instagram account. But this was used as an example of holiday makeup and not created as an actual holiday campaign, as far as I can tell.

MOOD BOARDS TO SHOW EACH BRAND AT FACE VALUE
As you can see both brands are very different in their image but similar in the way that they stay true to that image. This is a good start for my to understand the basic identity of each brand which I really need to channel into my designs.
